For the 13th consecutive year, Arena Seating was entrusted to supply temporary seating to the toe-tapping Strictly Come Dancing Live as it visited the SSE Arena Wembley, 11-12 February 2016.
Arena Seating was called upon to supply and install 624 plastic tip-up tiered grandstand seats into the London venue, as fans witnessed performances from glitterball trophy winners Jay McGuiness and dancing partner Aliona Vilani, along with their fellow cast mates.
Tony Sainsbury, Arena Seating project manager and his six-strong crew, worked alongside the tour’s production team Broome Productions, to install the venue’s temporary seating in just five hours. He comments “It is always a privilege to work on such a well-loved show year on year, and its testament to the hard work and commitment of team that we have worked on this tour since it began 13 years ago. The Arena seats seamlessly fit with the existing infrastructure, ensuring the venue was fit for this brilliant event.”
The tour was hosted by Great British Bake Off star Mel Giedroyc, and ballroom fans were presented with two routines each from the seven star-studded dance couples, complete with a live audience vote. This year’s show saw dazzling dance routines from Frankie Bridge, Anita Rani, Helen George, Ainsley Harriott, Georgia May Foote and Jake Wood.
